Bibliometric Analysis of Film Tourism Research

In recent years, Türkiye has experienced rapid developments in the TV series and films and gained international recognition in this field. Film tourism is an important factor that provides tourism development for many destinations. It has also emerged as a growing sector in terms of tourism studies. Although there are already some studies on film tourism, it is still a new research area. Therefore, studies on film tourism are still not at a sufficient level. The aim of this study is to present a bibliometric analysis of the studies on film tourism published on the Web of Science platform. When the keyword “film tourism” was searched with the all fields filter on the WOS platform, 219 studies were found. The identified studies were analyzed with the help of VOSviewer 1.6.18 program. In this research, descriptive statistical analysis, citation analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and co-authorship analysis methods were applied. In addition, the 18 most cited studies were subjected to content analysis.
