Educational Tourism as a Development Approach in Rajasthan Tourism with Respect to Udaipur

Rajasthan is well recognized as the foremost tourism destination within the country. Both domestic and foreign tourists are attracted to the region’s impressive cultural history, vibrant customs, diverse ethnicities, rich historical legacy, captivating natural beauty, lively folk traditions, and delicious cuisine. The state possesses remarkable and unparalleled tourist attractions that hold immense potential for the expansion of the tourism sector. It has a strong need to develop its tourist infrastructure and increase domestic and foreign visitors, especially in significant places like Udaipur. Several reasons, including the lack of educational programs, limited publicity, and insufficient advertising, contribute to the incapacity of the places to attract tourists. Tourist locations also face several challenges, including resource scarcity, entrepreneurship problems, and economic instability. Since the tourist potential of Udaipur cannot be denied, the tourist expertise of Udaipur should be conveyed in a systematic and meticulously planned manner. Consequently, it is imperative to establish educational tourism initiatives in Rajasthan. The primary objective of this chapter is to underscore the significance of employing educational tourism as a developmental strategy to facilitate the sustainable development of the tourism sector in Udaipur. The research also examines the obstacles and necessary conditions for the establishment of educational tourism as a separate element of learning, with a focus on its integration into the educational curriculum.
