Visualizing Social Capital and Actor Networks for Sustainable Suburban Areas

In this chapter, the authors describe the Next-Generation Suburban Community Development Project, implemented collaboratively with Yokohama City and Tokyu Corporation, and activities at the WISE Living Lab, a space for experimenting with new ideas to address challenges and issues facing communities and to create value in Yokohama, Japan. The study examines the human networks and social impacts of the project and considers the role of living labs in the context of Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11).
