Farzad Sharifian’s Linguistics Applied to the Black Lives Matter Movement in the United States

Cultural linguistics as developed by Farzad Sharifian offers a framework for studies of public discourse. Much of the meaning of discourse is embedded in grammar, which evokes scenarios of social interaction. The theory is applied to the rhetoric of the Black Lives Matter Movement and its opposition.
