Protein Markers in the Detection of Cancer
摘要
Proteins are very important for cell mechanisms such as cell growth, metabolic process, cell signaling, and cell motility. The proteomic studies basically identified the number of protein biomarkers in specific types of disease. These protein biomarkers are benchmark for different types of cancer identification and its therapeutics. For example, the overexpression of glycoprotein is responsible for growth of tumor and its spread in different parts of body. The secreted proteins are multifunctional and are implicated in different malignancies including the stomach, prostate, lung, colon, and liver.
