Importance of ADME for Anticancer Prodrugs
摘要
Basically, prodrugs are the medicinal agents that remain inactive until they reach the target site. But once they reach the target site, they become active to exert its required action. Various scientists have optimized the prodrug approach (chemical approach) in order to optimize the physicochemical and biochemical properties of drug molecules for improving bioavailability. Formulation of anticancer drugs is a challenging task as they should exhibit optimum chemical stability as well as enzymatic liability so that they are converted into parent drugs after administration at the desired pace. This book chapter will encompass the impact of Absorption, Distribution, metabolism and excretion for anticancer prodrugs.
