Derivation of Equation of Motion of a Vibrating System
摘要
This chapter presents different methods used to derive equation of motions of vibrating systems. At the beginning, the applications of Newton’s second law of motion, equivalent system parameters method and conservation of energy to derive equations of motion are explained. The fundamentals of variational calculus and the application of variational method such as Lagrange equation and Hamilton’s principle are also presented which can be used to derive equations of motion of different discrete and continuous systems.
