摘要

Pediatric rare tumor is the designation used for pediatric malignancies which have a very low incidence (variably defined as annual incidence less than 1–2 per million children less than 18 years of age, or incidence less than 0.3% of all childhood malignancies). In view of the rarity of these malignancies, large cooperative clinical trials have not been feasible, and hence, robust evidence, guiding clinical practice, is lacking. Management strategies have evolved over years by reporting experiences of small cohorts of patients and development of rare tumor registries.
