Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is a major health problem and one of the leading cancers with high mortality rates in women especially from low–middle and low-income countries. Advanced disease at presentation, suboptimal facilities, and access remain the main hurdles. Patients should undergo thorough clinical evaluation and work-up for preliminary staging along with multidisciplinary multimodality evaluation and treatment. Most important factors include appropriate staging, evaluation and treatment. The choice of treatment depends on stage, histology, comorbidities, performance status, availability of expertise, facilities and most importantly, patient’s choice if alternatives are available. The chapter deals into detailed evidence-based approach including evaluation, staging, treatment options according to stage and treatment algorithms.
