Prostate Cancer
摘要
Carcinoma prostate is the second most common malignancy in males accounting for 7% of all newly diagnosed cancers across the globe. The mode of presentation is highly variable with asymptomatic small localized tumours at one end to widely metastatic disease including hormone/castrate-resistant cancers at the other end. PSA testing along with MRI and prostate biopsy forms the cornerstone for diagnosis. Staging is important so as to identify the tumour burden and formulate treatment plan accordingly. Active surveillance, radical prostatectomy, radical radiotherapy and chemohormonal therapy are important treatment modalities. PSMA PET, robotic prostatectomy, SBRT, upfront chemohormonal therapy, androgen receptor-targeting drugs and PSMA based theranostic options have drastically changed the way all stages of prostate cancer are treated today.
