Basic and Translational Science in Oncology
摘要
Translational cancer research is a bridge linking basic research to clinical practice. An insight into tumor biology holds the key to advancement in both diagnosis and treatment of cancers. It is important to reflect upon the contribution of basic research to the fields of cancer hallmarks, DNA repair machinery, gene expression, cell cycle control, and role of immune surveillance to chalk out a plan for therapeutic success in oncology. This chapter aims to bring into focus the translational output of basic research in and as applicable to clinical oncology.
