摘要

In this paper, numerical methods were used to analyze the influence of eaves columns of each floor on the displacement response under earthquake. A three-dimensional numerical model was established for the traditional 7-story timber pagoda, and verified through the monitoring results. The analysis found that eaves columns decreased the displacement angle between floors significantly by providing lateral stiffness. As the eaves columns increased, the displacement angle gradually decreased, and the structure deformation changed from bending-shear compound type to shear type. The installation of the eaves columns of the 1st floor and fourth floor had opposite impact on the overall performance. The influence of the eaves columns of 4th floor on the displacement and displacement angle made the structure less safe under earthquakes. The perimeter columns of the bottom floor have a significant weakening effect on the displacement angle and displacement of every floor. And the installation of the 7th floor eaves columns and thatsa increased the displacement angle of each floor because of whiplash effect.
