摘要

Low complexity selective level mapping (SLM), which dramatically lowers PAPR without information loss, is taken into consideration in this work as a way to improve the PAPR in traditional OFDM. Multicarrier modulation method called orthogonal frequency division multiplexing provides good spectral efficiency, low implementation complexity, and reduced sensitivity to echoes and distortion. The OFDM system is frequently used in many communication systems because of these advantages. The primary drawback of the OFDM system is an increase in peak power due to the coordinated addition of subcarriers. Since an OFDM signal is composed of several separately modulated sinusoidal waves, its amplitude is almost Rayleigh. The amplitude of the OFDM signal fluctuates widely, leading to peak-to-average ratio to be high. The simultaneously sent independent data blocks into IFFT operation then produce OFDM signal sequences. The PAPR should subsequently be calculated for each OFDM signal sequence. The sequence whose PAPR is the lowest will ultimately be picked to be transmitted. The recommended SLM scheme offers comparable PAPR reduction performance with noticeably less computational complexity as compared to the traditional SLM technique. The results are simulated using MATLAB.
