Intelligent Shopping Carts for Mall Automation
摘要
Shopping carts have become an essential component of the shopping experience. Customers must move carts from rack to rack to acquire the things while also calculating the total price and comparing it to their budget. Following this procedure, they must wait in line for billing. To overcome the aforementioned problems, a new concept, the intelligent shopping cart, is introduced. Specifically, a totally automated retail system that strives toward mall automation is presented. The RFID reader incorporated in the cart scans the unique tag of each set of products, and the related details about the product and the total amount payable are shown. The final charge amount is provided by the automated billing system. As a result, the rush at the billing area is much decreased. To track the consumer in this study, infrared transmitters and receivers are employed.
