Model Predictive Control for a Stand-Alone Asymmetrical Six-Phase Induction Generator Wind Energy Conversion System

摘要

Model Predictive Control (MPC), which is based on the use of an explicit model, has been widely used for the design of control algorithms in various applications. The reason for its success is due to its capacity to deliver high performance. In this scope, this paper describes the Model Predictive Current Control (MPCC) algorithm application for the control of a stand-alone wind energy conversion system based on an asymmetrical six-phase induction generator (ASIG) with battery storage. And fuzzy proportional integral (Fuzzy-PI) control is developed to replace the classic PI linear controller in the machine's rotation speed control. As main findings of this work confirm that this control algorithm shows remarkable performance, with a good steady state error and perturbation rejection.
