Conversion of Solid Waste from Annaba City into Biogas, A Climate Solution and a New Energy Vector

摘要

Technical landfills are located in all municipalities of the country, and many of them contain large amounts of waste, which can be exploited as a new source of renewable energy and benefit from it on the energy and environmental levels. This is what this work suggests, where we studied the case of the technical landfill in the city of Annaba, starting from an estimate of the quantity of biogas emissions as a function of the quantity of waste and the geographical location, then propose scenarios for the electrical conversion of this thermal energy contained in this biogas using the most compatible systems (internal combustion engine, small internal combustion engine, micro-turbine). Finally, we concluded that the hybrid scenario is the best scenario for this landfill from the point of view of energy and environment. This allows us to say that we must start implementing such profitable projects at all levels.
