摘要

In recent years, priority has been given to structures that are cost-effective, energy efficient, quality efficient, and has a short construction period. The current technology allows the structural engineer to design the section and profile as per the strength requirement. Many researchers have designed Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) using a direct approach to structural software, where the cross-section of PEB components was randomly assumed without any validations. In such a case, the drawback is that the time consumption to arrive at an effective section is high. This paper focuses on drawbacks and a method has been evolved to design the components of PEB which is a prior requirement to be considered for analysis in any structural software. The design analysis of the PEB frame is been carried out through plastic analysis and the validation is been done using Indian Standard codes. The obtained design section was analyzed in STAAD Pro software with the optimization of the sectional profile which reduces the steel quantity.
