An Introduction to Recent Approaches Underlying Mechanistic Insights Harboring Oncobiology

Oncobiology is rapidly progressing, with many ongoing studies aimed at comprehending the intricate mechanisms underpinning cancer initiation, progression, and treatment. While significant strides have been made in the comprehension of cancer biology, much work remains to fully grasp the myriad factors contributing to cancer’s onset and course. To develop innovative therapies, continued exploration of cancer’s genetic and molecular foundations is crucial, alongside an increased focus on personalized treatment strategies that factor in each patient’s unique characteristics. These approaches encompass genomics, functional genomics, epigenetics, single-cell analysis, immunotherapy, metabolomics, the tumor microenvironment, artificial intelligence, liquid biopsies, and 3D organoid models. Distinctive intriguing avenues like telomerase, TGF-β, E-cadherin, kinases, epigenetic alterations, modified angiogenesis and metabolism, genetic instability and mutational modifications associated with oncogenic progression and the potential future trajectories including personalized medicine, immunotherapy, cancer stem cells gut microbiome, and advances in nanotechnology have been discussed in brief.
