Wireless Electromagnetic Tracking Technique and Its Applications in Motion Capture
摘要
Motion capture (i.e., motion tracking) is increasingly employed daily. However, existing motion capture techniques have apparent shortcomings. For instance, the optical tracking approach is restricted by the light of sight and inaccurate orientation estimation, while the inertial sensing modules cannot output linear displacement. Nevertheless, the wireless electromagnetic tracking (WEMT) approach can provide the pose information without the light-of-sight issue. Hence, WEMT has a broad application prospect. This chapter presents the principles, challenges, prototype implementation, and several typical WEMT applications.
