Complications of Intravesical Therapy for Early Bladder Tumors
摘要
Intravesical therapy is an important component for treating high grade non muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). It is important to be safe and aware of the side effects of intravesical agents. These complications should be identified early and prevented whenever possible. Following the guidelines and taking necessary precautions before and during instillation helps to prevent these complications. The complications of intravesical agents is a wide spectrum with most common side effects of BCG being dysuria and increased frequency of micturition at one end and fatal form of sepsis at the other. The chemotherapeutic agents though less used, are well tolerated.
