Surgical Complications in Management of Musculoskeletal Oncology Cases

Through limb salvage surgery (LSS), musculoskeletal oncology patient gain a chance at an active, disease-free life, and goal is to preserve function, prevent tumor recurrence, and enable the rapid administration of chemo- or radiation therapy. Complication in LSS was proposed by Henderson in 2014. Multiple factors are affecting complications during surgery. Meticulous planning and execution of surgery is most important factor to prevent complications.
