Venous Thromboembolism After Gynecologic Malignancies

摘要

Venous thromboembolism is a deadly complication seen in cancer patients. It not only increases morbidity of the patients but often leads to mortality. Its prevention is vital and every cancer institute should have well defined protocols for thromboprophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolism. Here, we highlight the diagnosis and management of two important components of venous thromboembolism that is deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism in patients suffering from gynecologic malignancies.
