Metabolic Complications of Urological Surgeries
摘要
TUR syndrome is a rarity now and can be prevented with careful patient selection and appropriate intraoperative precautions. Post obstructive diuresis which is usually seen in obstructive uropathy is an easily manageable entity if promptly detected. A high index of suspicion should be maintained and patients should be properly counseled. Due to the complexity of urinary intestinal diversion and the associated risk of significant metabolic abnormalities that can be problematic for the patients, the surgeons need to be fully aware of how to avoid and minimize these complications.
