Tubularized Incised Plate (TIP) Urethroplasty
摘要
Tubularized urethral plate urethroplasty is the commonest procedure done in distal hypospadias and done in selected cases of middle and proximal hypospadias. Usually, the circumcision is a part of the TIPU and dorsal dartos is used to cover the neourethra. The circumcision is less acceptable to both the parents/patients and the treating physician. Hence, prepucioplasty is more frequently demanded and done. Neourethra can be covered with ventral dartos and foreskin can be preserved for prepucioplasty. The basic principle in the management of hypospadias is to restore the normal or near normal anatomy. The tubularization of urethral plate, spongioplasty, and prepucioplasty reconstructs a near normal penis.
