摘要

Hypospadias correction aims to enhance psychosocial and psychosexual adaptation in affected children, emphasizing the importance of achieving a natural penile appearance. Righini’s pioneering work on foreskin reconstruction and preservation (FRP) in hypospadias surgery underscores the multifaceted role of the foreskin beyond cosmetic concerns, acknowledging its potential sexual and immunological functions. While circumcision carries risks, FRP has been successfully employed in hypospadias repair, with studies reporting favorable outcomes and minimal complications. Despite inherent risks such as postoperative phimosis, FRP presents a viable option supported by various authors for its reproducibility and satisfactory results.
