Dorsal Dartos Flap Covering of the Neourethra for Fistula Prevention in Hypospadias Repair

Distal hypospadias repair has become a relatively safe surgical procedure with tubularized incised plate urethroplasty. However, fistula formation still represents the most common complication, in various rates. Covering of the neourethra with vascularized tissue has proven effective in reducing urethrocutaneous fistula rate. We present our technique based on using dorsal dartos flap for neourethra covering.
