The Lateral-Based Onlay (LABO) Flap Technique for Proximal Hypospadias Without Severe Chordee

摘要

The lateral-based onlay (LABO) principle is to suture the lateral foreskin to the urethral plate as an onlay flap or as a lateral meatal-based flap. It is suitable for patients with proximal hypospadias in the absence of deep chordee that necessitates division of the urethral plate. It has particular value in patients with small or flat glans. Multiple layer closure and careful attention to technical details was associated with 5% complication rate in primary proximal hypospadias.
