Onlay Island Flap for the Repair of Hypospadias
摘要
The dorsal prepuce has been integral in urethral reconstruction for hypospadias, initially introduced by Asopa and popularized by Duckett. Asopa et al. utilized the preputial flap in severe hypospadias, while Elder et al. adapted it for distal and midpenile cases without chordee, proving its efficacy in proximal cases as well. This technique offers advantages by utilizing readily available, hairless, and adequately sized dorsal prepuce, often discarded otherwise. The onlay island flap repair technique thus presents a sustainable and clinically significant solution for hypospadias management.
