A Clinically Effective Way to Control the Progression of Myopia (IV): Wearing Frame Glasses

  • Jia Qu

摘要

For people with refractive error, those who opt for frame glasses account for more than 80%. From the point of view of convenience and safety, frame glasses are suitable for children and adolescents because they offer a wide range of options, no contact with the eye surface, easy replacement and, at the same time, have some fashion elements. Frame glasses are used to correct myopia by dispersing the incoming light through a concave lens so that it converges on the retinal plane of the eye, resulting in a clear visual image. As can be seen in Fig. 20.1, the glasses are used to achieve the clear vision by altering the optical path of the image. Glasses do not alter the myopic eye itself, and the same optical principle applies to the correction of contact lenses.
