A New Finding in Myopia Research (I): There Are some Substances on the Human eye’s Retina that “Direct” the Eyeball to Develop toward Myopia

Research has basically confirmed that the occurrence and development of myopia are with an increase in the anterior and posterior diameters of the eye. So what causes it to elongate? Scientists have found that when the eye feels intrinsic or extrinsic pressure, some substances in the retina act as signal carriers (Fig. 13.1) and begin to direct the eye to overgrow and develop myopia.
