This research studies the impacts of household norms and environmental benefits on energy-saving intention and behavior in an emerging market. This research adopted the Theory of Planned Behavior framework in which household norms take place of subjective norms to reflect the influences of family members on individuals in energy-saving-related behaviors. The proposed model includes nine hypotheses, and data was gathered from 321 families in Hanoi, Vietnam. For analysis, the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method was applied. The results show that both household norms and environmental benefits cause significant impacts on energy saving-behavior, while only household norms have a significant influence on energy-saving intention.

摘要
