Engineering applications are all quantitative based. Calculations need to be done for designing, development, implementing, maintenance and further enhancement. The design calculations can be done only if we know the requirements. In the context of renewable energy, the requirements are based on the environment conditions as for solar energy irradiance and wind energy wind speed is required. Hence, each renewable energy system has respective various environmental parameters. Knowing the environmental parameters and the energy output we require for a particular application, we can design the appropriate Renewable Energy System (RES).In this chapter we will study the various computational elements of various types of RES, to enable us determine the design pentameters, outputs and efficiency of the RES.

摘要
