Protection Coordination of Transient Stability Constrained User-Defined Relays in Distributed Generation Systems
摘要
With the growing integration of DG into power networks, ensuring protection coordination has become a key concern. The intermittent nature of DG systems, coupled with their dynamic response during transient events, necessitates the development of advanced relay coordination schemes to enhance system stability and reliability. This paper presents a thorough investigation of transient stability constrained relay characteristics based on fault voltage and current. The voltage-controlling parameter, K, is varied to achieve stability and protection coordination in synchronous-based DG systems. The CCT serves as a pivotal decision variable to determine the stability of the system and obtain optimal relay settings. The efficacy of the proposed coordination scheme is demonstrated through time-domain simulations by using genetic algorithm and hybrid whale cuckoo search algorithm on modified IEEE 14-bus system in DIgSILENT PowerFactory 2023 SP3 and MATLAB 2019b softwares.
