Preliminary Research on Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Furniture Design-Take the Torii Entrance Cabinet as an Example
摘要
This research aims to explore how generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) can assist furniture design, and takes the Torii bookcase as a specific case for analysis combined with the theory of Kansei Engineering. Traditional furniture design methods face challenges such as creative limitations and low design efficiency, while Kansei Engineering emphasizes starting from the emotional needs of consumers and transforming emotional responses into specific design elements. This study uses Torii as the theme, while comparing and collecting the perceptual vocabulary developed by chatGPT and designers, and developing a design proposal for the Torii entrance cabinet. Based on freehand drawings, generative artificial intelligence refers to the perceptual vocabulary to generate diversified designs. Solutions and optimize them through collaborators’ emotional feedback. The research results found that generative artificial intelligence can help improve design efficiency and appearance diversity, and meet the emotional needs of the proposal process, providing new methods and tools for furniture design. However, there are still discussions and discussions on the transformation of materials and the discussion of artistic conception. Room for development. The results of this study will serve as a reference for future product design based on the combination of artificial intelligence and Kansei Engineering.
