摘要

Under the impetus of globalization and technological development, distance learning has gradually emerged as a pivotal educational method, but it poses various challenges for elementary school students and influences their learning experience and overall well-being. The primary objective of this study is to explore the issues and requirements encountered by elementary school students in distance learning and propose innovative concepts for auxiliary products tailored to their needs, aiming to enhance their learning experience and overall well-being. This study employs a multifaceted approach. Firstly, semi-structured interviews were conducted with families of elementary school students experienced in distance learning to ascertain the current issues and demand factors encountered by students. Subsequently, the results were analyzed in focus groups by 10 graduate students in design, including master’s and doctoral students, to establish innovative design directions. The results revealed four dimensions of issues encountered in elementary school students’ distance learning: insufficient physical and mental activity, lack of professional educational guidance, inadequate functionality of products and equipment, and lack of planning in furniture and study space. Additionally, ten demand factors were identified. Through cross-analysis and exploration of key issues, the study proposed innovative distance learning auxiliary products characterized by lightweight design, strong convenience, high universality, multifunctional integration, and product styling to enhance learning focus. These findings lay the foundation for the development of transformative distance learning auxiliary devices tailored to the unique needs of elementary school students, thereby enhancing their learning experience and overall well-being.
