How Advanced Technology Design Meets Senior Adults’ Emotional Needs: A Case Study of Japanese Senior Adults’ Experience
摘要
The pilot study aims to investigate the psychological perception of senior adults’ advanced technology adoption in Japan. The advanced technology in this study refers to the latest technology such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things. A qualitative approach, interview, is adopted to investigate senior adults’ perception of advanced technology. The result suggests that the design of future advanced technology may consider about autonomy, communication, emotional engagement and social impact. This might help to support older adults’ emotional needs for advanced technology which can enhance their adoption of technology.
