Application of the Immersive Virtual Training
摘要
The Virtual Reality Technology has become one of the important digital trends in decades. In nowadays the VR technology engages with people’s common lives gradually and the variety of the digital experience is though out many fields. Multimedia technologies become an inevitable trend that benefits our life, and furthermore, saves lives. The study is based on a practical VR application which had been co-established by National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology and Kun Shan University. And the purpose is seeking enhancement for the first responders’ training programs of the national army. We built a cave automatic virtual environment (CAVE) simulation system to simulate three disaster scenarios that projects surrounding motion picture with 12 4k high-definition projectors. To strengthen the immersive experience, the system also works with 4 high fidelity human patient simulators (HPS), 4 earth quake simulation platforms, a heating generator and 5.1 surround sound. It is the first CAVE application built for the first responders training programs in Taiwan. With the advantages of the VR technologies and physical effects, the system would trigger personal’s stress and pressure similar to real situations. Furthermore, it enhances first responder’s assessment and preparation that the regular drills are hard to achieve.
