Cognitive Research on AI-Assisted Generation of Animations with Diverse Artistic Styles

  • Chia-Ling Chang

摘要

In recent years, AI generation technology has experienced explosive growth, encompassing both text and images. As a result, more and more people are learning and utilizing these tools. Animation, a consistently popular medium for conveying information, transcends gender, age, ethnicity, and cultural boundaries. Compared to a single art style, short videos that combine audio and visual elements are particularly well-suited for integrating diverse artistic styles into a cohesive whole. This study begins by comparing three well-known AI video generation tools: “Runway Gen-2,” “Genmo,” and “Moonshot.’’ The comparison focuses on their strengths and weaknesses across several dimensions, including “image quality,” “database completeness,” “video duration,” “usability,” and “auxiliary functions.’’ The research also explores the public’s growing preference for the integration of diverse artistic styles within a single piece, as opposed to single-style works. To investigate this, the study applied AI-assisted technology to generate 20 short animations in diverse artistic styles, with cups as the central theme. The objective was to examine the young audience’s perceptions and acceptance of AI-generated, multi-style animations. Data was collected through online questionnaires, analyzing participants’ perceptions and levels of acceptance. This research aims to apply diverse artistic styles and AI animation techniques to the practical creation of short videos. The findings provide insights for developing short animation advertisements that could improve the effectiveness of commercial promotions for the new generation.
