Research Ethics in Education
摘要
The present chapter focuses on exploring some of the many challenges faced in the field of research ethics in education. Increased diversity in many educational contexts as well as changing norms and mores regarding the relationship between the researcher and those being researched has resulted in a fragmented landscape. Moreover, the polarization of the field of education as a field of study between opposing camps favoring positivist and constructivist approaches to research the complex phenomenon of teaching–learning has resulted in a plethora of standards, “best practices”, and regulations attempting to bring some order to the field. Nevertheless, it is possible to develop a tentative model of research ethics for education based on the basic premises of the discipline. The chapter presents a tentative model of research ethics for education based on a constructivist approach infused with lessons taken from a range of socio-cultural environments and with an overarching framework guided by the need for the “glocalizacion” of the model.
