Ethical Issues in Research Practices in Economics

The study of research ethics in economics is a core constituent of successful economic analysis, decision-making, model-building, and prediction. Scholars in the field of economics study apply research ethics to examine the harmful consequences of stakeholders who are involved in questionable research practices. More importantly, research ethics in economics contains the application of fundamental ethical principles in the fields of economic knowledge domain including experimental economics, behavioral economics, environmental economics, political economy, development economics, health economics, and public policy. This Chapter will help unite the knowledge on research ethics in economic methodologies in the process of knowledge generation using the lens of positivist and normative.
