Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), also known as reduced coenzyme II, is pivotal in attenuating neuroinflammation, sustaining the oxidative reduction state, and maintaining mitochondrial function. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) share common pathological features, including mitochondrial impairment, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation caused by protein aggregates. This chapter discusses the prospective therapeutic applications of NADPH in addressing AD and PD.
