The fiber tip provides an advantageous platform for expanding the integration of micro- and nano-photonic structures, forming one of the main forms of “Lab-on-Fiber” and constituting an important direction in micro- and nano-photonic research. This chapter focuses on the technical and methodological approaches for fabricating metal, dielectric, and semiconductor micro- and nano-photonic structures on fiber tips, the physical properties of the produced photonic devices, and their applications in sensing devices, light-emitting devices, and optical modulation devices, etc.
