A Brief History of Voltage Quality Controllers

This chapter firstly introduces typical topology structure and evolution trend of series-connected Power electronic devices. Subsequently, the bottleneck issues faced by VQC based on series-connected power electronic were introduced. Then, the current state-of-the-art multifunctional techniques and their corresponding strategies for voltage quality controller (VQC) is introduced as well. Based on this examination, the pivotal issues and challenges encountered in the research and engineering applications of multifunctional VQC systems are succinctly summarized.
