In the 26th year of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s reign (221 BC), the Qin Dynasty was established, and China officially entered the era of “comprehensive unification” of a centralized dynasty. The term “comprehensive unification” first appeared in the “Spring and Autumn Annals of the Gongyang", which reads: “Why do you say ‘in the first month of the Zhou calendar’? This is because it is necessary to mark that the whole country is using a unified calendar”.
