Field Events: Re-conceptualizing the Field Through Research with Digital Technologies
摘要
Reimagining the field transnationally involves viewing it as a series of co-created events shaped by ethnographers, participants, and digital technologies. Focusing on elderly care in transnational families, this chapter illustrates how ethnographic methods can adapt to the online realm as the “field.” The author’s examination of digital content—across multiple languages, as well as memes—acts as a form of translation, providing deeper insight into the discourse surrounding migration and elder care in Kerala, India.
