Today's building industry faces serious challenges as a result of the ineffectiveness of soils. Enhancing the properties for unsatisfactory soil using different waste and fibre might occasionally be a fundamental advancement for any construction works. Certain wastes and fibres generated by different means has prolonged affected the environment without having a definite means of treatment. The proper disposal of these wastes, like ash (fly ash, wood ash, baggage ash, and others), plastic bottles, construction demolished wastes, etc. has emerged as a potential danger to the ecosystem and requires effective solutions. Different fibres (natural and artificial fibres) like jute, coconut coir, bamboo, plastic and so on could be generated from wastes produced by various means can be used effectively for many constructional purposes. The study provides information on various studies that examine the use of recycle waste and fibre to stabilise weak soil and produce an acceptable subgrade material. The study provides a temporary alternative for any engineers when the availability of common additives like lime and cement is difficult. To comprehend the engineering performance and underlying mechanisms of altered soil, it is crucial to examine and assess fundamental strength characteristics. These include parameters like the California bearing ratio, unconfined compressive strength, and microstructure. The result obtained from different tests with addition of different % of additive on the soil is discussed, and the improvement found is shown in a detailed manner.
