The helicopter rotor ice protection system is greatly important to ensure the flight safety. The use of electrothermal system has shown the ability to promote ice shedding and protect helicopter flighting safety in icing. In this paper, an experiment has been conducted at the movable icing wind tunnel to evaluate helicopter rotor with electrothermal ice protection system. The test results proved the effectiveness of the electrothermal system for the rotor, and demonstrated that the novel heating component based on graphene can reduce the energy consumption for protection by up to 40% compared to traditional metal heating films.

摘要
