Research Progress on Sand Erosion Resistant for Helicopter Rotor Blades
摘要
The rotor blade is eroded when helicopters take off and land in a harsh sandy environment. Under these extreme environmental conditions, existing rotor blade erosion resistant systems, usually metal leading edges, are replaced frequently, resulting in high maintenance costs, reduced sorties, and shortened blade life. Therefore, protective coatings are needed to improve their durability and reduce maintenance costs. To solve this problem, a lot of studies have been carried out to develop a suitable anti-erosion system. Materials used for anti-erosion systems are metals, polymer, cermets and film. The general situation of blade sand erosion, erosion mechanism and research status of corrosion resistant materials are reviewed in this paper.
