A Parameterized Evaluation Method for General Arrangement of Aircraft Design

Aiming at establishing a quantitative evaluation method for general arrangement of aircraft design, this paper presents an original quantitative and parameterized general arrangement evaluation system that is set up for the preliminary design phase of aircraft development. The evaluation theory model and corresponding parametric evaluation indicator standard are developed, in which the weight sensitivity, survivability, space utilization degree and maintainability are put forward by feature recognition. Besides, the construction method of composite evaluation indicator is proposed when multiple indicators work cooperatively. The application of principal component analysis is utilized for dimensionality reduction of the composite evaluation matrix so that the computation of the composite evaluation indicator is simplified. Finally, the validity of the evaluation approach is corroborated by engineering illustration which proves the effectiveness of this system supporting that this paper can serve as a benchmark for the comprehensive assessment for general arrangement evaluation in aircraft design and other potential field in aeronautics.
