The honeycomb sandwich structure, as an important lightweight structure, has been widely used in the aerospace manufacturing field due to its superior mechanical properties. As the connecting components of the honeycomb sandwich structure, inserts are widely used for the connection and fixation between honeycomb sandwich structures and other equipment. The connecting strength and stiffness of the honeycomb sandwich structure mainly depend on the inserts, which directly affect the structural performance of the aircraft. In order to obtain the bearing capacity and failure mode of the inserts and study the influence of structural parameters on their mechanical properties, this paper conducted finite element simulation, tensile and shear tests on inserts of different structural parameters of honeycomb sandwich structures. The results obtained the failure load of the specimens and the influence of structural parameters and insert forms on the mechanical properties of the inserts for honeycomb sandwich structures, providing reference for the design of inserts for honeycomb sandwich structures.
